FREQUENT QUESTIONS

When you have lost:

One tooth: If you are missing a single tooth, a single-unit crown placed over an implant is the simplest, most comfortable and safest way to restore your chewing ability and the natural appearance of your teeth

Several teeth If you have lost several teeth, a fixed prosthesis or crowns supported by implants can restore the functionality and appearance of your mouth.

All Your teeth Today, there are also solutions for patients that have lost all of their teeth. The procedure works by placing sevral implants that anchor and support a fixed prosthesis, without the use of a palate, braces, or adhesive. Alternatively, you can use a removable prosthesis, which will be secure and stable while in use.

No Metallic claps.

No Palate.

No Dental Adhesive.

Dental implants are a revolutionary dental treatment that has made the inconveniences and significant restrictions caused by conventional prostheses a thing of the past.

Given that the implants are inserted under a local anesthetic, you will feel comfortable during the procedure. Only in some cases does the treated zone present a slight inflammation during the first few days.

In most cases, an anti-inflammatory analgesic is enough to get rid of any lingering pains

“An implant is an investment in future which will improve your quality of life for many years to come.”

Having new teeth that look and feel like your own is a priceless experience. Implants are an accessible treatment that will in fact save you money over the long term. The cost of the procedure depends on the magnitude of the treatment.

At Salud Oral, most implant treatments can be paid in installments, over the course of 3 or more months.

Teeth that are supported by implantas:

Perform, look and feel like natural teeth.

Allow you to smile, talk and eat with total confidence.

Are comfortable and stay in place.

Do not need the support of other teeth.

Yes! As far as what you can eat, there is absolutely no difference between natural teeth and teeth that are supported by implants.

50% of a treatment´s success is due to the recovery.

Selecting a destination with a climate favorable to healing and recovery processes during dental treatments is key to a successful result. As you can imagine, climates that are too hot for example the beach are unfavorable to healing as they provoke more and longer-lasting swelling, and they oblige the patient to stay in their room, it not being recommended to go out in order to avoid being exposed to the sun and high temperatures.

Our clinic is located in a valley surrounded by mountains and evergreen forests, which allows us to enjoy an average temperature of 15 degrees centigrade, ideal for good healing processes. Being the most attractive colonial city in Mexico, full of pedestrian zones, magical hidden corners and cobbled streets, San Cristóbal de las Casas invites you to go on tours and walks not only in the city but also in the surroundings during the days of your dental treatment. The food on offer is varied and delicious, and the concentration of cafes, design stores and proposals that mix modern and traditional will complete your journey and experience.

TRANSFORM YOUR SMILE WITH TEETH WHITENING

Whiter Teeth, Brighter Smiles

The Power of Teeth Whitening

INTRODUCTION

Currently, dental whitening is recognized as the most effective method for treating pigmented teeth. It is also a conservative procedure, increasing patient comfort and safety.

Teeth whitening is a dental procedure that will quickly and effectively improve the color of your teeth from mild to significantly.

As a result, you will obtain whiter teeth, boost your self-esteem, and permanently show a beautiful smile every day. Because smiling is the most contagious positive act in the world, do it confidently and do not deprive yourself of a good laugh that radiates security.

Whitening options

In-Office Teeth Whitening

This kind of teeth whitening is carried out under carefully monitored conditions by a specialist, which allow the safe, controlled, and painless use of a relatively high concentration of whitening gel, achieving visible and immediate results.

This sort of teeth whitening can be complemented with an at-home procedure to maintain the results for much longer.

The advantages of getting in-office teeth whitening are:

  • Immediate visible results.
  • Whiten the areas with darker stains caused by ingesting food and beverages such as tea, coffee, wine, tobacco or fruits with strong pigments.
  • Remove stains caused by aging, as teeth darken over time, becoming yellowish, brown, or grayish.
  • It is an extremely safe procedure.

Home Whitening

With this whitening method, the patient is responsible for applying the product using a dental guard, which is very practical and easy, although supervision at the clinic with the specialists is still necessary, as they are also the ones who provide the whitening product with the appropriate percentage for you.

This sort of teeth whitening can be complemented with an at-home procedure to maintain the results for much longer.

Disadvantages are:

  • If you have extensive cavities or your gums are affected by some disease or recession, you may experience pain or sensitivity in the affected area.
  • Inappropriate handling of the product (using it without following the instructions).
  • Longer time needed.

Advantages are:

  •  Comfort: You can whiten at any time of the day or night, for short or long periods.
  • Portability: It can also be used in the office or while traveling.

Evaluation and indications after treatment

Many times, it is very important that you undergo a dental cleaning to have the area free of plaque and bacteria in order to have optimal results with your treatment. The procedure for teeth whitening in the clinic involves:

Teeth whitening after care

You must attempt:

  • Ingesting for one week: plain chicken, fish, plain pasta, white sauces or creams, cereals, milk, and Sprite as a carbonated drink. After that, your diet can return to normal
  • Using dental floss for a complete hygiene routine.
  • Continuing aftercare through a dental cleaning once a year.

for the 48 hours prior to dental implant placement:

  • Teeth staining foods or beverages: Tomate sauce, soy sauce, chocolate, berries, coffee, soda, tea, and red wine.
  • Hot or cold beverages and foods for the first 24 hours.
  • Any drink or food that would stain a white shirt.
  • Using neither toothpaste with artificial colorings (blue or red) nor mouthwash for 24 hours.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

There are not many barriers that prevent the patient from undergoing a dental whitening treatment. As long as the entire mouth is healthy, it is possible to carry out this dental treatment without any problems. Contraindications are usually for patients who have oral problems such as very advanced periodontal diseases or extensive dental decay. You must be assessed and assisted individually by the specialist.

An important question! Normally, it can last several years (from 3 to 5 years). It is possible that you may need a touch-up to extend the new radiant tone of your teeth. The duration will depend on habits, cleanliness, and post-whitening care.

Each patient has a unique and particular dental coloring; just like fingerprints, genetics plays an important role in dental aesthetics. Certainly, the color of our teeth is determined by the internal tissue (called dentin) and tends to be darker in color. This internal tissue is covered by a harder superficial layer called enamel, which has a translucent tone.

However, it can
be affected by common abnormalities such as fluorosis, certain medications, foods with a lot of pigment, smoking tobacco, or simply aging, all of which can give the appearance of yellow or dull teeth. That is why there are a wide variety of dental shades.

Unfortunately, dental restorations do not react to teeth-whitening procedures, so they will retain their original color. It is also important to consider that teeth whitening should be performed prior to any dental restorations so that they can match the shade achieved in the treatment.

If you are thinking about having a radiant smile and you already have any tooth restorations, you should consult our dental specialist.

90% of our patients come recommended due to a pleasant experience with all types of aesthetic and dental health treatments. We adapt to the expectations and requirements of each of our patients; we have more than 20 years of experience, so we have gone along with the evolution and innovation of dental whitening over time, which is why we have the highest quality materials and spectacular results for our patients.
